Animal Demonstration
Krishi Vigyan Kendra conducts 2-3 demonstrations for improving milk ,egg ,meat on farmers fields on technologies released by research institutes, universities. These are mainly related to latest released fodder varieties, making home made feed , Giriraja and RIR poultry breeds to increase meat and egg production respectively,poultry equipments to reduce fodder wastage , technologies to reduce cost of production etc. For example cow pea, Yeshwant, Oat, Maize, Stylosanthus scabra have been used as fodder crops under demonstrations.
ON FARM TESTING
Low weight gain and meat production in poultry ,Low fat and milk production , tick infestation , inferior fodder quality in crossbred cows, Less twinning and weight in goat are the major problem in livestock. There are many remedies suggested by various research organizations. Krishi Vigyan Kendra has conducted on farm testing and comparative studies in farmers field to come to conclusion which technologies more suitable to the available resources & is cost effective.
- Upgradation of local poultry through Giriraja and RIR breed of poultry
- Osmanabadi buck has been used to upgrade the local Sangamneri stock by providing natural insemination services through Demonstration.
