Services Offered:

1. Online Advisory service

    The farmers are provided online advisory services through email, video conferencing and also through online query and reply system. The farmers from their respective village can connect to the KVK and either make a direct contact through video conferencing or get answers to their queries.

2. Weather Information Service:

   The farmers can seek current weather advice in different parts of the district and in their village. The information is sourced from Internet as well as the Automatic Weather Station installed at KVK Babhaleshwar.

3. Disease Forecasting:

   The farmers can seek advice on occurrence and prevalence of disease in the surrounding villages for early control measures. The forecast is made in respect of Downy Mildew, Powdery Mildew, Anthracnose and Botrytis in Grapevine and Early and Late Blight in Potato, Alternaria Blight in Onion.

4. Sale of Nursery Seeds and Seedlings:

    The farmers can seek seeds and seedlings of improved varieties of fruit plants at reasonable rates from the KVK Nursery division.

5. Technology on Production of Citronella Oil:

    The farmers are encouraged to cultivate aromatic grasses like Citronella oil and derive benefits from sale of the citronella oil. The citronella oil obtained from KVK's Distillation Unit made of stainless steel is also available for sale at a price of Rs. 300/- per kg.

6. Technology on Small Scale Fermentation of Locally Available Fruits:

    The KVK has successfully attempted to produce Fruit Wine from Pomegranate using the wine yeast strains NCIM-3282 and NCIM-3289. The technology of production of wines from other locally available fruits is under refinement and will be available for enterpreneurs in due course of time.

7. Consultancy on Project Proposal Preparation:

   The enterpreneurs and operators of NGOs could be supported by consultancy services in offering the Project Preparation to various State/Central Funding Agencies.
