Income
generation from different demonstration units
Total
20 beneficiaries have started vermicompost production. Initially they used
vermicompost in their own field to raise income from crop production. Only six
month before they have started production. After one year they will be producing
and selling Vermicompost on bulk quantity.
Similarly
five farmers group started production of botanical pesticide. They have saved an
average of Rs.400-600/acre/farmer cost on plant protection, besides timely and
properly managing pest and diseases. In future these groups prepared ipomoea
leaf extract on bulk quantity and will be sold to the other farmers in order to
generate employment.
Three
beneficiaries have started low cost oyster mushroom production, with locally
available farm waste. One beneficiary is earning Rs. 1200-1500 net income per
month from mushroom production. Two beneficiaries have started mushroom
cultivation a month before.
Family based spirulina
production units have been started by five beneficiaries. During next six month,
these units will be strengthened by construction of cement tank. The Mass
production will be sold locally as well as in commercial market.
-
Crop demonstrations on integrated crop management have increased the
yield of different crops by 15 –20 percent.
-
ICM component has helped to minimize the cost of crop production by 5-10
percent.
-
Vermicompost
has helped in improving soil properties.
-
Vermicompost production has helped in utilization of resources available
with them.
-
Farmers have minimized cost on nutrient management, improving soil
properties besides
generating income.
-
Botanical
pesticide production units have saved cost on plant protection by Rs.
400-600/ acre /farmers, besides utilizing locally
available resources.
-
Spirulina
consumption by targeted population has helped in generating employment.
-
Oyster mushroom
cultivation has generated employment in local area.
- Exposure visit has motivated the farmers for adopting integrated approach in crop production.
